Several of our group skied Wolf Ridge which was just a few minutes drive away. We also tubed which was located within walking distance. One day I drove to Marshall (about 40 minutes) and took my grandson horseback riding. We enjoyed the creek located on property and the grill on the porch was also a plus. I would highly recommend staying here. I hope we will make a return visit!

We of three generations stayed at Mars Hill Cabin over Thanksgiving. Some places are equidistant between Lexington KY and Apex, NC., with grandparents (us) coming out of Texas. We discovered that 5-4 cars could get parked on the road up to the cabin. The hill around back was a place for youngsters to roll down and go up again and again. The flat area around the pond was perfect for touch football and the grands participated. The kids enjoyed the bunk beds. The kitchen was just right for all to fit into to cook, with the large table just right for all of us to sit and enjoy the meals. We were pleased with this home away from home for 5 days.

"Our family of twelve stayed at the cabin for a long weekend. The accommodations were very nice. The three private bed rooms were perfect for the adults and the dorm type room with bunk beds was great for the younger family members. We were in town for a wedding at Memory Mountain. The cabin was surprisingly close to the wedding venue which was a bonus for our family.. We ate most of our meals at the cabin, the kitchen is nicely stocked with cooking and baking utensils. the fire pit was really nice, with lots of wood to burn. Over all our stay was nice."
"What a wonderful mountain home! We all really enjoyed our weekend, the only problem was it was too short a stay. Looking forward to a return trip in the future. We would recommend this large, lovely cabin to friends and family. Owners were very responsive and easy to work with, surroundings very nice, Asheville a short drive away. All in all, a great place to stay."
"Cabin was as described in listing and in a beautiful and quiet setting. Located in the mountains but near enough to the road (hwy 26) to go on excursions. There are plenty of hiking trails in the area, which is what we were looking for. Very close to Asheville, Mars Hill, and Wolf Laurel. Home is very clean and had adequate supplies. Furnishings are simple but very comfortable. There is plenty of seating, with large tables for meals. There is a wonderful porch and firepit."
"My family enjoyed our short stay. We enjoyed being "off the beaten path", but not too far. Whitewater rafting is 40 minutes away and so is downtown Asheville. The location is far enough off the road so it is very quite with lots of room for the dogs to roam freely. If you are looking for a place to stay near Mars Hill, definitely consider this cabin."
